Just curious - those of you who are student's of Tim's - how far do you travel for training? How long does it take you and how often do you make it to class (given SoCal traffic and all)?
Well, when I was going, I went three days a week for about a year or so, and then attended another school Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it took about half an hour to get to Tim's from where I live.
ME I TRAVEL 1HOUR JUST TO BE THERE IN SHEN WU MAKE ME FEEL SPECIAL. COZ TIM IS A NICE GUY BUT DON'T MAKE HIM MAD IT'S BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH. YOU KNOW WHAT IM SAYING. IM KIDDING I THINK SO I HOPE SO I THINK IM BORED
I live about 45 miles away- currently I only go on Saturdays, and it generally takes 45 minutes to get there.
For years though, I worked out Woodland Hills and made a bi-weekly trek through rush hour traffic which would regularly take 2-3 hours.
Hey Danny,
How's the wrestling coming along?
It's goin' good. Thanks for askin'. I've been trying to execute some of the combos that you've taught me, such as Uki Goshi to Ankle Pick, they work really well. I've been getting a lot more Judo throws and ESPECIALLY ankle picks in Wrestling. I was going to stop by the academy after Wrestling today, but my neck was bothering me, maybe I'll stop in sometime next week if that's alright, I miss you folks.
Well, when I was able to attend, it would take me an hour to get there and I would just go to the Saturday class. I would love to go more often however, money is tight and gas is expensive, really expensive.
I've traveled from Boston to train with Tim. Worth every penny and amount of time.
Hey Joe, Are you still in the area? Luo's coming this month.
Buddy
I tavel about 20 minutes now. Which is nice. Driving from Chino to Garden grove was rough but it was only for a short time.
I always try for 2-3 times a week.
I travel about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
His class is fun and he shows us alot of cool throwing techniques and chinna in his bagua class.
Tim,
Your a good guy...I like you

Wuxing,
I teach Sun style Baguazhang once a week. Gao style Baguazhang, Xingyiquan and the various Taijiquan styles are taught in private lessons only (you can read about the different styles on my site).
Monday through Friday I teach a combined class (stand up striking, throwing and ground fighting), and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Submissions wrestling.
I'm an eight hour drive south of SF.
Thanks Tim,
I look foward to meeting you, and training with you sometime in the future...

I live in Reseda, Ca, about 52 miles away from Tim. I'm currently not training with Tim, but I used to drive down twice a week. But I am hoping to start again in the near future.
Hey Shane, I think you live near me. Let me know if you want to practice sometimes during the week.
Hey Duong,
I live in Highland Park- about 22 miles from you.
(I used to work down the road in Woodland Hills, though).
Maybe after summer is over and Reseda cools down we'll hook up.
Shane

Dan,
Send me a private email if and when you can. It seems I live on the way from where you and Troy lives to Tim's. I have a lot of personal issues I must resolve on my side, after which I'm planning to return to Tim's once a week. At that time, we can all carpool.
Duong
That's a superb idea Duong. Just let me know, you have my email.
if you traveled 254 miles or from Boston, how long did you attend classes for? A few days? A week? I am on the East coast and would like to make the trek eventually.

I have brought Tim out to Boston many times before in the past.

In fact, if any of you folks are on interested in a potential training weekend with Tim in the greater Boston area, please shoot me an email.
