I have found a lot of great wisdom being shared in this forum. Thank you Mr. Cartmell for providing the space! And a big thank you to everyone that posts.

jack yello i like you!(no i'm not gay i just like men,ask my wife!HAHA!)
it still feels funny saying"yello" i hope it's your name not the color of your pants!
well you should resume more,no one likes to
read that many lines, but i did!
it was good!
if you never read it, you should get
"the book of five rings" by stephen f. kaufman.
you got to make sure it's by him!
i live and fight by that book.
it's simple put to the point, but also it goes deeper!
ps. what do you teach, how many student do you have and how much money you make?
i'm not just rude,i'm also curious,because i want
to open my own school,eventually!

Thank you Mr. Daoust. From what I gather compliments of any kind are not easily attained in this forum. Yello is not my last name. I have read that book and it great, made it into my altime collection of keepable material! I instruct Old San Soo. I currently have 2 students. I do not charge any money . It is not about that. I will never have a school.
This stuff is privately taught to individuals that
make it throw the weeding out process (OH that never stops!!!!). My instructors have taught me not to
use kung fu as an identity. Being known as an instructor or having a school is an identity.

i agree, but we all need money!
and if you can make money doing what you love why not?then why live if you can't do what you love?
i'm not saying to get greedy and teach taiji for $150 a month, but real martial art!
you teach old san soo?
please tell me that you're really not jack v.!
so if having a school or being a instructor
give you a identity?
then a style give you one too!
why san soo,why not martial art or simply fighting?

By jack yello on Thursday, March 30, 2006 - 07:01 pm: Edit Post

I am not Jack V. However I do believe I know who he is. I come from a wrestling, boxing family. I studied Isshin Ryu when I was a child. I later moved onto some kung fu styles, mostly southern. I studied briefly Buso Sambo Samoz from a student of an ex-spetsnaz commando. I even briefly studied Krav Maga. It was through a family connection that I met the men who would later be my instructors. I have found san soo to be truly effective for ME. As far as the style giving me an identity: well your right! As far as putting food on the table, right now I have that covered. When I dont I will charge.

By marc daoust on Thursday, March 30, 2006 - 07:11 pm: Edit Post

just glad you're not jack v.(thank god)
it's great you got the food part covered!
but wouldn't you like to do MA all the time
instead of going to work?
unless you got a good secretary!(clinton good)
you must have a good job,if you can waste as much time on a computer as i do!
ps. i've done it all too,and realized that nothing
works by it self, but put them in the blender a
you got a shake!

A life changing art.

By jack yello on Saturday, April 01, 2006 - 11:58 am: Edit Post

I can only use my life as an example. Before I began San Soo I was a welder/metal fabricator. I worked forty hours a week at this. For extra money on the side ( I was making a great living as a TIG welder) I used to sling mud with my brother(concrete foundations for houses and sidewalks). I was puttin in 60 hard hours a week. Then I began training in San Soo. I'm one of those left handed right brained artsy fartsy poetic types and love philosophy and history so I asked my instructors about alot of the philosophical stuff. They reminded not to get carried away with being to mental as the truths are revealed by DOING THE MOVES. The point of all this? Now I reside in mexico. I work on average 1 hour a day(at least for now) and make the same amount of money as I did back in the states. The quality of my life has much improved. Life changing art I say. Even if I never win one fist fight I feel I have already won in so many other ways. Was this long winded enough for you Mr. Dahoust?

By marc daoust on Saturday, April 01, 2006 - 05:48 pm: Edit Post

there is no H! but yes kinda?
so because you now work a hour a day in mexico
you think that it's because of san soo????
please,i want my kidney back!
but you don't care if you ever win a fight?
than why train martial art?
if you don't want to win fights,be a cocky
ping pong guy or something!?
you told me you had "the book of five rings"
but i think you don't get it!
the only reason to fight is to destroy your enemy!
if you don't want to do that ,than it's not
MARTIAL arts,it's just art!
it's like breathing without oxygen!
a heart with no blood!
a leg without a foot!
etc...............
if you fight there is only one reason,to win,
by winning i mean survive and live!!!!!!!

does it?

Can anyone tell me if vaseline (O GOD I'm settin myself up here!) is ok to use inside the nostrils for healing nasal problems associated with a slight case of broken face? If not what can be used?
