Anyone have any suggestions on movements or concepts to heal up a fractured hip and pelvis?

Take only a doctors advice. After a few weeks of PT, I'll give you my input.

I'm with them. A fractured hip/pelvis is nothing to mess with. Much more serious than fingers, toes, arms, legs, collar bones, etc. Follow docs advice and take physical therapy. Nothing more until healing is advanced.

Marc... your last posting was remarkably stupid advice. Western medicine is far from perfect but it certainly can work wonders for serious injuries as can the help of a qualified physiotherapist.

Pain and damage that you think you shrug off when you are young and strong can come back to haunt you in later years in the form of osteoarthritis as well as other problems.

Mark....good to hear from you again! Thank you everyone for your posts. Your advice is well taken! I think I might agree with Mark on sucking it up. Even with surgery Mr. Babin there is always a chance for osteoarthiritis...Right? Good to see everyones still here. I was wondering where everyone went.

Tim,

Do you have any advice for Grazing Grasshopper on hip or pelvis fractures? Think it might be needed.

babin,if it's absolutly needed then go ahead.
but, a lot of injuries heal better when left alone.i have a few buddies that got shoulder and
knee surgery, and they have more arthritis and pain in those joints than any other.
they all reget getting surgery.
ps.lots of doctors will say to get surgery
when it's not needed.why?
it's called the american dream!!!

I'd find a specialist and get his opinion, then I'd find another specialist and get his opinion, then decide what to do.

Thank you Tim. My brother is a roofer and fell about 30 feet off a roof. He has damage to the pelvic girdle and coccyz (I can never spell that damn word right!!!). I am returning home to see him and help him for a week. Looks like he is going to be out of work for sometime.
A big thanks to everyone for contributing on this-knowledge in application is real power.
