Stop having sex

Tim's Discussion Board: Ba Gua Zhang : Stop having sex

By Ian Powell on Monday, November 17, 2003 - 12:02 am: Edit Post

Well, I'd like to add that my experience practicing at Tim's Academy over the years has been of an environment of mutual respect, concentration and common work along realistic lines of development. I would hope for anyone serious about training in a physically demanding way-- whether for health, strength or to slap people around as a bogeyman beat cop-- could find as favorable an environment. (I've never met any bogeymen at Tim's Academy, btw...)

Well, in order to return to the topic of the thread...
The Wing Chun stylists in my town often practice periods of sexual abstinence, perhaps a month or so before competition to gain more power. Runners do this too so I guess it makes some sense. I have one question though...I have heard that you may start losing your hair when you save up excessive testosteron. It sounds strange, but most of the Wing Chun teachers here are bald, even though they only are in their late thirties. Coincidence? Comments on this?
Rumbrae, with the unbiased opinion of an outsider, I would suggest you continue your discussion in the Flame Room.

Arguing over the internet is like running in the Special Olympics.
Even if you win, you´re still retarded.

;) No offense, but most of you, including Rumbrae, I remember as people who can post well-worded, good advice.
So, pretty please with sugar on top, do that instead of degrading this great place to another "My sifu could kick your sifu´s ass - Oh yeah, why don´t you come over and show me what you´ve learnt" forum.

Here, here! Rumbrae, I was just trying to fuel your fire, no offense meant. Now, back to topic. What about those athletes that have sex right before an event to improve their performance? I've been losing hair recently, btw.

Just a thought, that special olympics analogy... do you have any family members or know anyone who has special needs?

If not, take a moment and reflect on it.

Your attempt to point out how stupid someone else was or is just pointed out how insensitive you are, just another brand of stupid.

And btw, that comment was old the first time I saw it.

Sheesh, ya can't win for losing. I give up. I'm going back to looking for a judo school.

Tim,

you said that it is natural and normal and all humans should have sex. Yet the monks remain sellebous and pure, how do you explain that?

By Tim on Thursday, November 20, 2003 - 06:29 pm: Edit Post

You mean "celibate" and pure.

What do you mean by "pure?"

Because some monks don't have sex, does that make sex unnatural or abnormal?

By Maciej (Unregistered Guest) on Thursday, November 20, 2003 - 09:38 pm: Edit Post

Even catholic priests and the pope don't have sex. So alot of people actually don't have sex. I mean pure as in virgin, virgins are pure.

Hello everyone i am Nigel Tuffnell, a psychologist (behavioral research) with the C.I.A.

As you may know we live in a trying time, there is a war on terror that affects us wherever we are in the world. Because of CIA's national security and intelligence gathering role we are constratly searching for new ways to obtain information on potential threats in order to assess them and effectively prvent them. I specialise in this area, more specifically the obtaining of information from captured enemy personell. Total isolation, sensory deprivation, body cavity searches, insufficient or inadequate food, denial of heat in bitter winter or air-conditioning in sweltering summer, and lack of sunlight, these are all methods that we have used as the base of our tortureing procedures (i can tell you this because of the agency's release of the "KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation" manual) but we believe to have found a new and even more effective weapon with which to stop those that would spread terror among us.

That weapon is of course this thread, extensive testing has shown that being to forced to read this thread once created many of the same results as the above methods, but leaves less tangible evidence of the procedure. In fact it is believed that by forcing someone to read this thread multiple times you could actually cause someone to "die of boredom" the millitary applications of this are obvious. So i hope you will continue to develope this excellent new technology, the CIA is very proud of you all.

sincerely yours

Dr Nigel Tuffnell

Catholic priests are renowned in many parts of the world for molesting children. Clearly they are as pure as the driven snow.

Obviously the Pope couldn't move fast enough to catch a child these days.

So your saying all catholic preasts molest? That's a big generalization. And what source do you have for pope ever having sexual conduct with anyone?

Dr. Tuffnell
I must ask you to stop posting immediately on this Forum as your recent comment was both witty and well-written -- stop showing me/us up!

Marciej;
Read any unbiased historical account of the papacy and you will see instances of Popes who were venal, highly sexed and in some cases had children who rose to high office because of their father's position. Some of these were also capable administrators and decent enough men (for their times).

It's difficult to generalize with any success about any aspect of human nature as there are always glaring examples of "how not to act" in even the nicest person. As to monks ... I recently saw tv news converage of two different street battles between rival gangs of Buddhist monks (one incident in Korea and one in Hong Kong) in which the "saintly ones" were throwing gasoline firebombs at each other and the police as well as punching and kicking each other in a most devoted manner. Too much abstinance ... or not enough?

Dr. Tuffnell,
Can I get some kind of medal for this thread?

Michael is correct. And coincidently, I get to use part of my notes for my "History of Catholicism" course that I took last year. Yay!

Originally, the Vow of Celebacy was only applicable to certain cloistered orders, as it is a form of mortification of the flesh. It was like a vow of silence for the loins. Some of the popes, (Innocent III, and that Medici who wasn't even a member of the clergy yet became Pope come readily to mind) were even the sons or relatives of other Popes. BTW, Innocent the Third also died having sex in the Vatican, if you were curious.

Then, somewhere in the 13th and 14th centuries, the Church began to impose the vow of celibacy upon its priests to prevent their children from inheriting Church property and taking it outside the control of the Church. So, to be blunt, there was nothing but political motives behind the marketing of widespread celibacy for priests. It was once an quasi-mystic practice along the lines of the vow of silence, living in a cell, and self-flaggelation, but now is reduced to a property control scheme.

It was a pretty fascinating time in the Church's history, actually. (And before you go about proclaiming this as mere propaganda, keep in mind that I'm QUITE Catholic.)

Hi,
As I understand things, it is entirely possible to give up the opposite sex for the sake of celibacy but that doesn't mean that these guys don't relieve them selves from time to time. I dunno much about Catholocism, if jerking off is no good or what, but I'm willing to bet that the majority of celibates spank it sometimes. I think celibacy is functional (if you are going that path)if you have a method to keep you from going nuts, but as far as I know there is no such method in Catholocism. This is what leads me to my conclusion. I'm sure that everyone differs in their sex drive, some go bonkers after five minutes of abstinence and some can get the same pleasure from looking at a beautiful painting. But for most, I think that a useful way to get around insanity is jerking off. Well, that's my two cents; looking at this thread you should have a buck by now. Josh

There are many millions of people my age in the U.S. that have no problem attracting attention from the opposite sex, getting dates, & getting laid. Now, how much of a mutha friggin loSeR does it make me sound like not to have even been flirted with once in my life, let alone had the slightest physical contact with a female??

How can it be argued that all this is my fault? Other guys, it sure seems, don't have to do anything but go out & walk the street or visit the grocery before attracting female attention. Meanwhile, i approach 500+ women & get shut down by each & every one.

What have i done? Maybe i am a reincarnated rapist & i am now paying God's price>? LOL I don't understand.
