To my knowledge, Marcus no longer lives in Colorado.

Marcus moved from Colorado a couple of years ago.

When I saw Luo in Dec. he told me Marcus is planning to return to Taiwan to live.

How familiar are you with George Wood? He claims to have also studied under Luo De Xiu, and is teaching in the D.C. area. Ever meet him in Taiwan?

He HAS studied with Luo in Taiwan. I have seen the two together during seminars in Boston and the long term student/teacher relationship is obvious as Luo will delegate teaching responsibilities to George during the week long seminar.

I have met George and I believe his ba gua is first rate, and George strikes me as an intelligent well mannered person.

George's website is www.yizongbagua.com

I've been in contact with George Wood over the last year or so. In his writings, he is extremely knowledgeable with respect to bagua and a very honorable gentleman.

He also has been on the mainland and knows his way around the bagua circles, if I correctly recall in our correspondences, Tianjin area.

He is a straightup, no BS martial arts practitioner.

Can George Wood fight or is he just a paper tiger trying to make a living on the reputation of his teacher and his lineage.

He sounds like a good guy. Can anyone vouch for his actual ability to fight?

was looking for a comment from Tim? acquainted w/ George?

By Buddy (Unregistered Guest) on Sunday, March 07, 2004 - 12:32 pm: Edit Post

George doesn't make his living teaching martial arts. He, like most folks, has a regular job. I've had the pleasure of knowing George since just after he moved back to the States and can vouch for both his skill and his character.
Buddy
PS I think Marcus is currently in the US.

Jason,
I met George breifly when I was in Taiwan a couple of years ago. He's a very nice guy and was one of Luo's senior students at the time. He trained with Lou for six or seven years I believe.

"He sounds like a good guy. Can anyone vouch for his actual ability to fight?"

He's a great guy, a good teacher and a pleasure to work with. Just another outstanding Bagua Man from the Tiande school.

As far as his ability to fight? Never actually fought him and after working with him? I'd want no piece of that scrap. Ever.

I have known and worked out with George for years and can vouch that tring to beat the crap out of George is like trying to beat the crap out of an particularly strong brick wall. He will be teaching you the Bagua system directly from Luo De Xio. Also, as stated he is a great guy with a genuine passion for sharing the art he loves.

And if you come to any of the Boston seminars you can meet him. Just don't get between him and pizza.

"if you come to any of the Boston seminars you can meet him"

ooooh what a treat! I feel special already.

By what is the point of this? (Unregistered Guest) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:00 am: Edit Post

Why would you critique him? You do not even know the man, yet you are so sure of yourself to make fun of him? What is that? How high of a skill level is that? Why is it people are only able to judge others? Yet do not do anything themselvs?

funny i was just skimming along looking for information on Luo De Xiu and came across this thread... amazing how technology makes some men fearless. speak your words with your body and then you will know and not have to ask.
