Different stances (details)

Tim's Discussion Board: Ba Gua Zhang : Different stances (details)

Hello,

I wonder if different sub-styles of Bagua use different stances, or are the basics interchangable ?

I know that some use wider steps, some use slightly different palm shape, but I wonder if there are other, less obvious details in the stances for instance different distribution of the weight, different angles... ?

Thank you in advance for your reply

Different styles of Baguazhang will have different basic exercises, forms and techniques.

Thank you for your reply. So I thought, because I know that substyles accent their favourite strategies and types of techniques (strikes, sweeps, throws, chinna). This of course determines their basic exercises.

But I am curious if the main stance is different in different substyles ?
