On emptyflower, a few clips of Tim back in the day have shown up, with Tim working with Dr. Xie Pei Qi. Tim, I was wondering, what are your experiences working with Dr. Xie? How did his style of Bagua differ from what you have learned, and what were some of the things that he stressed during practice? Did you study with Dr. Xie extensively? Sorry for all the questions...I really do envy you for all the great teachers that you've studied under.... ;)
I never studied with Xie Peiqi. I was working as a translator for Dan Miller when I met Xie Peiqi, I let him demonstrate some of his techniques on me during the interviews, that was all the experience I had with him.
The information in the articles about Xie that Dan Miller published in the Pa Kua Journal are all I know about him and his style.
He was, as I remember, a very interesting man and his branch of Yin style Baguazhang contained an extensive number of training methods and forms.
Thanks for the fast reply! I was under the impression that you had studied with him, but it's all good. Really though, it seems like you've studied with some of the best in terms of quality teachers, or at least have been around them in this case. Anyways, Happy New Year, and good training!
