Hello,
Has anyone seen the wing lam sun bagua videos, and also study sun style bagua zhang? If so, can you comment on how "representative" (of the style) is the content of the video?
Thanks.
The best bagua video I've seen is by Luo De Xiu. It features a young Tim Cartmell as student! Introductory and short, but incredibly excellent. I don't know where it's available as I borrowed it from a friend.
I can't speak for his Sun bagua, but if it is of the same quality of his Sun tai chi you'll really enjoy the improperly performed form, missing steps and bad shen fa. I did.
Robert
TOO TRUE! I got his Sun Taiji apps vid off of ebay (thank god I only paid like $10 for it) and wow I was blown away by his lack of..... well.....anything! Goes to show you what someone that does 10,000 styles can REALLY do.
Of course that being said, he is one of the richest men in CMA in America! Sad state of affairs when Tim and I can only get a handful of students and these dickheads have satellite schools all over the world!
Cheers
Jake
bad shen fa
What is Shen fa?
why is it that all those videos are about forms?
like bruce lee would say (in my own words)
forms!
can't these super master make a video of
themselves fighting for real, not with a
brainwashed student that goes with it!@
i think the chinese are full of .they're the guys who talk a lot and can't do .where the are the chinese in todays martial art world?why don't they show what they got ,if they got it?
oh,i forgot there stuff is too leathal!!!!!!
the chinese are all like any 4 feet tall people i've ever met, trying to compensate!
the mongol burnt the damn shaolin temple
how many times?
maybe we should learn from them!
Marc,
You're not Chinese, are you?
You're not Chinese neither,are you?
why do they have to make everything sounds like
magic CHI stuff, hidden forces and internal
strenght?
Because they want your money
you're right!
then why is everything made in china!
I'm no fan of outsourcing- it's had a major effect on my life and career recently. However, it's the American company who "wants your money". American companies outsource and move companies to China and India- because, they're dirt cheap.
Your earlier post saying all Chinese people are like all the 4foot tall people you've met who are compensating- made me wonder two things:
(your posts are frequently bitter and rude) what are you compensating for?
and how many 4 foot people have you met?
this board is my way to stick it to the man!
hahaha!
i don't compensate,i'm just opinionated and
mad at the world!can't you tell?
you should be too, they fired you and hired
a chinese guy for less than half the price.
i guess you're right i'm rude.
but i speak my mind, and no one can accused
me of being fake!
shane are you asian?
i knew a shane he was asian/hawaiian,he was 4
something (he has a mean triangle).
he was compensating,who isn't?
why do we do MA?
finaly what is shen fa?
Shen fa = use of body/ body method
MARC you know yao ming his chinese 7'6 ft tall

What a Whingy Whiney Poo Poo !!!
what is satellite schools?
yao ming is one in million, billion i mean,we're talking about china here.
and your point is?
so if ba gua is about circles,
than, that explain why they explain it talking in circles!
i like the idea of ba gua,it's all circles, spirals
or spheres!but it is realistic to see things like that in a real fight?

Robert, your post states that Wing Lam "improperly performed" the Sun Jia Taijiquan form. That's an interesting statement considering the fact that he learned the long form (as well as Dragon Bagua) directly from Sun Jian-Yun. He is also sanctioned by Sun Jian-Yun to teach Sun Jia Taijiquan. So could you please explain what you mean in your previous post?
Thank you.
