The book is due out in a month or so.

It's being published by North Atlantic Books.

This thing is going to be a big hit with people who practice any form of Tai Ji...

Finally, a book on Sun style that is accurately translated by someone who actually understands the style and the classical flowery language Sun Lu Tang wrote in.

Hi Tim,

I wonder, does SLT address the reasons he linked tcc, bg and xy in this or any of his books? Or, has SJY addressed it?

Regards,
Steve James

Steve,
I think the primary reason was those were the three arts he studied.

Hi Tim,

sounds reasonable that he wuld have seen the similarities for that reason. I also understand that Cheng Tinhua, his bagua teacher (?), emphasized cross-training, in general. If you work out with someone of another style, it's probably inevitable that one will observe similarities.

Btw, are you going down to the DR?

Best,
Steve James

What's the DR?

Dominican Republic?

I remember reading somewhere recently, but can't recall where, anyway there was a suggestion along the lines that, when Sun sought clarification on aspects of internal energy, he compared the jings of Xing Yi and Tai Ji (Hao) and this inspired him to 'create' Sun Tai ji.

Hi Tim,

yes, the Dominican Republic. I wondered if you were participating in or observing the Pan American Games.

Best,
Steve James

No, I'm not planning to go to the Dominican Republic.

Hmm, I preordered this book from Amazon in June, but I still haven't received it. Some trouble with the publisher? Will it ever be released?

The book is at the printers and should be available very soon.
