Just have a quick question. Recently I had a conversation with a person who has studied sith some of the top chen players in the world, and he was telling me about techniques that have been mentioned to him that are not taught to the public such as ground fighting techniques, and other skills. My question is: Even though much is being done to disseminate chen taiji around the world, how much of the chen curriculum is actually taught to the public? Do inner door students even get a full transmission, or are there some things that only are transmitted to direct family? I know a couple of people from China who practice family systems, and they openly say that it is for family only. With Chen only recently being taught outside the family, there must be a large amount of info that is kept within family circles. Any stories, info, or just opinion is greatly appreciated.

I know one of four tiger who do not take non-Chinese as baishi student. In other case, for example, Cheng Man Ching did not teach Zuo Lai Feng internal strength method to his American student.
Having said it, I'm quite sure that the secret is not a collection of "Do this if someone do that" technique (groundwork or stand up). Baishi secret vary among style and often consists of neigon or secret form which reveal certain tactical insight (such as counter).

However, one should be aware that it was not uncommon in old day where baishi studetns took care of their sifu in old age. I don't think most westerner are capable of this kind of serious commitment.

Obviously, the modern age (and pension and old people's home) are upon us so these things are not so exclusive family secret. If you look hard (and living in major city help), you can find it eventually.
