I think, if understood that this simply is what it is, there is nothing wrong with it.
It's when people think that this guys can fight like this, and if someone where to attack him, that he would look the same, that's where we get into trouble.
I like the idea that martial arts training can be for everyone. But teachers must be clear about what it is they are teaching. For some this approach is exactly correct. For those who want to really learn how to fight, it's very limited.
For all I know this guys has a very good fight practice as well, or never says that he is training people to fight at all. Both would be legit in my opinion.
He is moving the guy by barely touching him especially later on in the video. That is none sense. The other guys is basically pretending to be pushed away while actually believing it is happening. He is literally tricking himself into being pushed back. Push hands competitions never look like this because the opponent isn't a compliant student.
