"Wait a minute! So let me get this straight. You're in Taiwan right now and you're requesting taiji instructional videos. LOL!!! That's classic."
Get a grip. I said if Tim put out a video with Sun taiji applications, I'd buy it. That's it.
Dave C.
Actually living in Taiwan has nothing to do with buying dvds. I have lived here 12 years and have bought probably 50 martial arts related dvds.
Blackfoot, mind your own damn business. I suspect your snide remark had little to do with dvds. If you have something to say, say it directly and sign your name. Free free to email me directly at

Dave is a friend of mine.
Sorry, dudes! Sheesh . . . . have a laugh every now and then. I still find it humorous.
Haven't you guys encountered some good taiji teachers there? I would rather learn from a teacher than rely on a video.
Feel free to write me at myballsareblue@yahoo.com
If anyone in the Delaware area is interested in Sun taiji, they should check out the following place: http://www.suntaijiquan.com/
This guy claims to be the grand-nephew of Sun Lu Tang. It's kind of rare to find a school specializng in Sun's material.

This is the best argument I've seen to date on why Tim needs to make a Sun form and applications DVD.

There aren't words...
I disagree, there are words, For example, "inadequate" and "wiggly' jump to my mind.
To be fair, few people do this set as well as Tim does or have the martial background to make it more than a set of empty postures strung together like bad Yang style.
I wonder where people learn to do the form like that?
From videos
I don't know the Sun style, but some things should be common to all Taiji. And those legs... man.
Well, his outfit was nice.
Tim, you do Chen style also?
"Shifu Croley is a 4th degree black belt and the owner of Croley's Martial Arts, Inc. in Asheville, North Carolina."
What degree black belt did Sun give you Tim?
I am forced to assume that it's 5th or above.
Hey Brian Kennedy,
if you are living in taiwan, I recommend you to go see Wei ShuRen's top disciple who lives
in taipei.
I forgot his name, but you should be able to find contact info in martial arts bookshop like Lion Books.
cheers, and
have fun
oops... I didn't see that the topic was "sun taiji" - sorry
Wei Shuren's lineage is directly from Yang Jianho.
I don't understand why you'd want sun taiji dvd when you have the options that you have
have fun anyway and good luck
Ahdoga,
I practice the Zhao Bao form of Chen style.
Jason,
I must have missed all the Taijiquan belt promotions.
Maybe Mr. Croley is a black belt in another style.
why would he say that then?
what a misrepresentation!
I'm beginning to think this guy may not be legit...
sorry about the belt though, duder.
lol, wtf is a duder?
'the dude'
or el duderino
or duderonomy
if brevity's not your thing
do us all a favor and stfu.
you asked
I know Mr. Croley- he is legit as you put it. The listing on the back of the video is a stock listing for several videos that were made. Obviously there are no "Black Belts" in any Chinese Martial Art. He was given permission to teach the Sun Style from one Lui Chan Shan in China- where he learned the set. The applications are strictly what Lui Chan Shan taught him and the video is a pretty basic interpretation for a beginning level of thought. Hope this helps!
I saw that Croley guy at a couple of "World Tai Chi Day" events. You may not like that old video- but he is really good in person. Very knowledgable.
