You can call it a more "jungian" approach, more of a symbolic practice. Its very psychological for me, in a sense that I know what I need to improve and see my weaknesses, a tool to work with would help me with that..

Of course I want to know how to use the sword well also, or I would just be doing a prayer ritual or something.

If I look at it realistically, my path now is to use what i have learned to improve myself and character. since I havent been able to train with other people, Im thinking that sword practice will be good, just for the meditation and keeping my coordination etc. decent. Thats just the way I am. I enjoy the martial aspect of it, but I also enjoy the ritual and spiritual nature of it as well.

I am a fan of the whole "sword of virtues" mentality. And I want to meditate on it, practice it, and make it a part of my life and spirit. A sword is a weapon, but to wield a weapon with virtue, and righteousness, is a true task which I see as honorable and I want to reflect in my life.

Better that than things that can be less productive and positive.

If im not gonna be training my fighting ability, may as well us my little knowledge to build character. And maybe then I will be ready to take on lifes challenges in a more lucid way. Ive chosen to be more symbolic about life.

*and then when I get the sword im just gonna let it sit and gather dust...lol

I still do the form sometimes but I've never had an interest in weapons forms. Personally I prefer to work hand to hand combat. My friend is a knife stick guy but I find that those drills become tedious.
