Tim's Discussion Board: Tai Ji Quan : Sun Taiji Video: Archive through May 02, 2005

Hello Tim,

I hate to sound pushy, but I think it is about time you put out a Sun Taiji video. There is a definite void of information on Sun style. Your translation of Sun Lu Tang's book is great, but we need a video :-)

Richard,
Thanks for the support.

Hi Tim;
Yes, a video with applications would be great for those of us who are interested in this fascinating taiji style. I add my vote to drafting you for such a project.

Me too! With you sparring multiple opponents, taking them one by one using Sun Style!

That's impossible.

I'd like to see any kind of clip of tim sparring.

Meynard has a sheeot-load of clips of Tim sparring. He used to have a few on the Virtual ShenWu Accademy (which you can get to from the main ShenWu.com page).

I think he replaced them with clips of Tim fighting in BJJ tournaments.

with my dandy new camera I'll have some clips of Tim beating the crap out of me and others soon.

Okay, so it sounds like some of the club guys are going to offer up clips of Tim sparring, and Tim is about to start production on a new video.

Sounds good to me :-)

I would like to second (or fifth!) the request for a Sun taiji video done by Tim. For what is supposed to be a major form of taiji, there seems to be surprisingly little info in print or on video. Outside of a few competition form VCDs from China, the only other video I can think of is Wing Lam's. As far as the market goes, people who buy Sun Lutang's book would probably buy the video as well.

The site below has VCD's with my teacher, Sun Jianyun.

Tim,
Thanks for the link, I had forgotten about those VCDs. Still, I doubt they have any applications on them, as few VCDs from China do. I'm sure you have Sun Jianyun's book on her father's taiji. You know, the one with a whole 6 pages (out of 400) on applications? So if you ever produce a video on Sun taiji with apps, I'll buy it.

Yes Tim,

please a Video with Sun Applications! I whould buy it also. If you do it in the same quality than your other tapes it whould be a self runner.

Instead of buying a stupid VCD, why don't you go study with Tim. In fact, there's a Sun seminar in Albuquerque, New Mexico this weekend.

Well Buck, if you zip over here to Taipei in your spaceship and pick me up, then perhaps I could attend. Until then, I guess I'll have to settle for a stupid video. Thanks for your input.

Wait a minute! So let me get this straight. You're in Taiwan right now and you're requesting taiji instructional videos. LOL!!! That's classic. So how is the studying with Luo coming along?
