Hi Tim,

Can you give us an example of an application for Repulse Monkey in Sun Style Tai Chi?

Also would it be appropriate to describe jing in Sun style Tai Chi or any Tai Chi style for that matter in terms of Xing Yi. For example would you call brush knee twist jing delivered as Pi or Beng?

The Repulse Monkey is a spiral throw. For example, you underhook your opponent's left arm with your right and pull his right arm under your left armpit with an overhook. With your right foot between the opponent's feet you step back with your left foot and throw the opponent around your right hip, much like a hip toss but the opponent moves more around your hip rather than over it.

You can describe a movement with any terminology you want as long as everyone else understands what you mean.

Thank you, although I think I had a bit of a brain meld there.

The answer to the second question I had I believe lies in what makes Tai Chi Tai Chi that being the "Thirteen Postures"

Although I do have trouble distinguishing those I guess that comes more with practice of application than doing form?
