10min video clip, highlights of the teachers
thanks... i like the way they explain the techniques. I wonder if they have any Wing Chun in their history. Alot of what they are doing is very Wing Chun. However, my wing chun teacher was a hsing i man also.
Actually there is not much difference between wing chun, hsing i, and even tai chi when it is explained properly.
Thanks again.
The guy teaching at the start of the clip is Steve Rowe,an inside the door student of Ma Lee Yang. He's also 7th dan Wado ryu karate teacher. He also acts as instructor to the Czech Special Police and other security bodies.I trained with him last year and he is very good. The Systema instructor,Rob Poyton, seen later in the clip, also practiced Taiji for 20 years before changing to Systema.I have done quite a lot of training with him and its good, solid, practical work.
stuff from the first guy is pretty good,
second guy is not bad,
third guy's application for knife attacks will get a guy killed
I have nothing against the guy, but I doubt he'll get out of those situations without a scratch
I agree with you about the knife defence.I have said all along it is a recipe for getting gutted but people seem to be binded by the dogma of a particular system. With knives I prefer the Rex Applegate approach. Its simple, may work under pressure and may save your life. There are no certainties in knife defence but what is presented on that clip is crazy and should be avoided at all costs.
