Hey Tim,

I just saw the cover of the book on Jake's blog. Could you provide some detail on what the book is about and what the dvds will be showing? Are you performing in the dvd?

More info will be out soon guys. We do not have exact release dates on either the DVD's nor the book, but certainly this summer.
Both cover the mechanics, and posture pertinent to the study of Taiji, along with the complete traditional form.

And of course Tim is on the DVD, it is his DVD project.

Cheers
Jake

The book covers the history, benefits of practice, principles, theory, posture testing and very detailed explanations of correct alignment, power generation and how to do the form.

On the DVDs, I cover alignment, power exercises, basics, footwork, methods of power generation, the form, posture testing and there is a section with demonstrations of applications of techniques.

Is this separate from the other dvd you were planning to put out or is it the same dvd?

By Tim on Thursday, July 01, 2010 - 05:29 pm: Edit Post

Classico,

Which other DVD?

By Classico on Thursday, July 01, 2010 - 09:03 pm: Edit Post

Your dvd that had power building nei gong which included harder nei gong than usual? The one that was going to come out last summer.

Is there still going to be a power training DVD?

By Classico on Friday, July 02, 2010 - 05:23 pm: Edit Post

If Tim doesn't put out a power training DVD I swear I'll get myself pregnant and quit the martial arts. This may sound ridiculous...because I'm a dude...and because it is ridiculous but if the DVD doesn't come out than I will try!

Hi

Will all of the tai chi dvd´s be released this summer?

Tobias

By Tim on Saturday, July 03, 2010 - 01:58 pm: Edit Post

Yes, the DVDs will be released in order, and all four will be available as a package in a few months.

Please do a power training/conditioning DVD!

Also please consider offering the option to download instead of buying the physical product. No shipping costs, sales and import duties and no waiting for shipping should make for more overseas sales!

Hi and thanks for the info

Will the dvd´s follow a certain order - the first showing the aligment and powergeneration and so
on ?
Tobias

By Tim on Monday, July 05, 2010 - 08:10 pm: Edit Post

King,

That's a good idea, I'll look into direct downloads.

Tobbe,

The DVDs do present the information in order, the first DVD includes the basics of alignment, basic alignment tests, Power Exercises, Footwork, and the first three sections of the form with the specific alignments tests for each posture.

The second, third and fourth DVDs continue with the form and posture testing. All four DVDs include a demonstration of technical applications of the form.

Hi Jake

No the style I have been doing is yang style - tung family - but in my work as physiotherapist I´ve been using some of the movements from the sun style form for people with arthritis and people with poor balance and they got better. There is no one, to my knowledge, that teach sun style in my country so to be able to get what sorts of information, and depth i expect, on a topic what you´re really into is just great. I´ve got almost everything Tim released in books and video/dvd´s and the quality has always been top notch so i´m really looking forward to this.

Very happy indeed to hear this news, for I'm a great fan of Tim's works, translations and pragmatic martial philosophy.

Is there a more definite release date?

Cheers!

Krisno
