After 3 grueling days of waiting Tim finally got to fight at 8:00 last night. The result was never in doubt as Tim put on a technically and tactically superb fight. Tim Cartmell is the new Pan American Jiu Jitsu Tournament Lightweight Champion.
The Pan American is the biggest Jiu Jitsu Tournament in North America and second biggest in the world. Unfortunately video taping at the Pan Americans wasn't allowed. However, I did take a bunch of pictures with my digital camera and I will be posting those pictures in a day or so. Stay tuned.
Congratulations to Tim! What's next? The Mundials, maybe. :-)
Wow! Congratulations Tim! Way to go, Ju-Jitz Man!
Thanks,
Meynard also submitted his first opponent and lost a tough second fight after the ref stopped him in the middle of a submission attempt for some unclear reason.
Congratulations to my teacher Cleber Luciano who won his division at lightweight Black Belt and took second in the open weight class (at 160 lbs!) Three of Cleber's purple belts also won their divisions.
Jujitsu, Xing-Yi, Pancrase, San Shou....Tim, what DON'T you do?
lose.
Congrats Tim and Meynard! Tim, Dennis won the FCFF Featherweight championship belt last week. Thought you would like to know.
