Rickson and my friend at a recent seminar

Tim's Discussion Board: Jiu Jitsu/Grappling/Ground Fighting : Rickson and my friend at a recent seminar

In a recent bjj Chicago seminar, a friend of mine (his name is Kevin) sparred with Rickson and he countered everything Rickson threw at him. At one point Rickson tried to get my freind in a headlock but my freind merely powered out of it. Rickson looked kind of confused that none of the techniques worked. Rickson could not hurt this guy. The guy is built like a tank and Rickson even hit him almost full power and nothing, my freind just used "streetfighting" to counter whatever Rickson did.

Hey, I'm in marketing... I see a product here.. millions to be made..

"How 10 simple street defences Neutralized this legendary BJJ fighter" Discover the moves that left the legend confused and impotent.

Here are the details...

An untrained street fighter, quietly and without fanfare, developed simple defenses in the streets of Chicago that even a legendary BJJ fighter couldn't handle. He was left standing embarrassed in front 50 seminar students as move after move was easily contered by this maverick street fighter.

If these techniques get out to the general public, then their effectiveness is lost, so, we are only making them available to 100 fighters who have to sign affidavits that they are not BJJ fighters....

If the story's true Rickson must have eaten a Chicago style pizza by himself beforehand. I ate half of one once & couldn't move for hours.

I saw a video in which Rickson assaults a big Brazillian guy on the beach. The guy obviously didn't want to fight but Rickson attacked him. There is a scuffle then Rickson can be seen mounted!!!!! Shortly afterwards he obtains mount himself but if this big Brazillian had wanted to fight he could have done some ground and pound. Anyway, my point is just that Rickson, while amazing, is still human. I wouldn't necessarily dismiss that he would have some trouble with a huge strong guy!

The guy in the 'fight on the beach' video is Hugo Duarte, the top Luta Libre fighter in Brazil (Luta Libre is a combination of BJJ and wrestling).

Rickson attacked him in response to a challenge Hugo had put out to the Gracie family. It was time to own up.
