Tim fought a great match against a much larger and experienced fighter at the Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championships this past weekend. He fought in the open class, where there is no weight limit. Tim weighing a mere 158 lbs drew a 240lbs, muscular, 10 year black belt from Brazil. The much larger and stronger brazilian eventually took Tim down with a foot sweep. Tim placed his oppenent in his guard, and prevented his opponent from passing his guard. Tim went on the offensive and attacked, nearly triangle choking his opponent. His opponent was able to muscle out of the triangle. Tim then almost swept his opponent who was able to base out using his weight and strength. Tim then was able to sink in a deep cross choke. However, time ran out and his opponent, from the look on his face, was relieved to escape without being choked out. Tim lost the match 2-0 on the takedown, however he dominated the match. Other brazilian blackbelts congragulated Tim afterwards as obviously, Tim's skills were much superior to his much heavier and stronger opponent's. In other matches involving fighters who train with Tim - purlple belt Mike Buckles won the master's middleweight division. He fought three very tough and close matches. He used his very effective guard game (a la Tim) to clinch the victories. Purple belt James Jung placed second in the senior 1 middle weight division. He won his first two matches 4-0, and 2-0 by dominating the standup and taking his opponents down. In the final match, he was able to take his opponent down to go up 2-0. However with 30 seconds left in the match, James got caught with a front choke and tapped. Congrats again to Tim and his fighters!

Congratulations to Mike and James, they fought some extremely tough fights.

Koojo,
Thanks for the props, I'm planning on bulking up to 160 for the rematch.
