As always I welcome constructive criticism of my wins and losses (unfortunately the latter here). Enjoy!

I was just surprised you let him get the takedown.

Do you roll with bigger guys a lot at your school?

The Plata was good. Have you ever seen how Eddie Bravo scissors his legs for more control over the shoulder during the oma plata?

You came, you competed, self-evaluated and therefore you are already a winner!

Congrats!

Bjj matches are so boring to watch.

For some spectating excitement, try this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4EHhtcLQKY

The best in the world (of course it's always more exciting when people understand how BJJ competitions work).

I saw that match. Part of it has to do with understanding the rule I guess but the other part is the lack of excitement for me personally. I don't need to understand kickboxing or boxing rules to find those matches exciting.

I was t saying bad about Jake's particular match. I was talking about bjj in general.

I watched my friends amateur mma match and found it exciting but mainly because it had striking as well.

I went to another amateur mma event and everyone cheered when there was a big slam, a good kickboxing exchange, and knockouts. People were booing when matches turned into strictly ground grappling matches. I cringe whenever Damian Maeia fights. Chalk it up to people not knowing the rules or chalk it up to it being boring. Either way I ge really don't enjoy watching strictly bjj matches.

Good job getting out there, Jake.

For me, watching a good BJJ match is like watching a good chess game... If you understand the strategies, set-ups, skill, transitions, techniques etc... involved, it's easier to get excited about what's happening. It's sometimes harder for people without much experience of grappling to get excited about it because the skill and strategies being exhibited are not a obvious at times, hence the value of different moments are not as obvious.

Roll with me sometime Timber. Never boring!

I guess if I knew the nuances of shuffle boarding I would find that interesting as well.

"The devils in the details". Some people look at boxing, or kickboxing, and find them boring because all they see is kick and punch, but they miss nuances around them.

Jake, I don't doubt rolling with you would be fun. But a video of our match would not look too exciting. That's the point I'm trying to make.
