Thanks Jake.
And thanks for the write up.
Congratulations Tim!
awesome
Congratulation Tim.
Congrats. How many degrees of blackbelt exist and how many of these super blackbelts have reached the last degree?
BJJ practitioners can earn a black belt in an average of 8 to 10 years of training, assuming they train most everyday, do well in competition for the most part and contribute to the Art.
After receiving your black belt, you are eligible for your first degree after 3 years, your second degree after 6 years, your third degree after 9 years, your fourth degree after 14 years, your fifth degree after 19 years, your sixth degree after 23 years then after 30 years, you become eligible for the "Coral Belt" (black and red belt). After 40 years as a black belt there is a Red and Black belt.
The highest ranking available is the Red Belt, it can be awarded about 50 years after achieving the rank of black belt. These men are addressed as "Grandmaster." At present, there are about a dozen living Red Belts.
After you get your black belt are the time restraints set in stone or is that just the average it takes to reach higher degrees of black belt?
Tim, when you do privates what do most people like to focus in?
Are most of your privates bjj, internal arts, mma, sparring? Or a mix of all.
There are minimum training times before you are eligible for any belt in BJJ. The times between black belt degrees are set in stone.
Most of my privates are BJJ or self-defense/fighting based.
I have a few regular private students that practice IMA.
Good job Tim.
Congratulations !
Another congrats to an excellent contributor to the martial arts world.
Much respect for methods of promotion in the BJJ world, they do it right in the modern day of everyone can buy a black belt.
Thanks everyone.
