This is an interesting clip. It shows that yes, the principles of IMA and BJJ are very close. The concepts he is talking about are actually the same in BJJ... though he seems to think he's doing something different by his comment early on.
His technical application leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly he does not train against resistance, and does not train with anyone of very high level. He does some very basic mistakes that actually prevent him from maximizing his application the IMA principles on the ground.
There are far better examples of IMA principles for grappling among BJJ practitioners - and they will do it against full resistance from skilled grapplers.
