Hello Tim,

I was working the other day my arm bar from the guard with a big guy, once started trapping his arm with my legs and arms he stood up which of course lift me with him, now in a real situation I could be slam hard on the ground, so my question is: how can I avoid being lift up by the other guy without leting go the arm bar?

Also while practizing some of the moves from your DVD when the guy holds your neck by his side, I was able to lift him up goin at 45 degrees and then proceeded to turn and take him down, but he didnt let go, so I used your advice of placing one hand on the side of his head to avoid my head being dragged to the ground, then proceeded to put the other hand down as well, move my body towards his head and place my hips lower and use leverage to break the grip, but it didnt work and I ended up with a really sored neck after practice, any tips of what I might have missed?

Thanks

I'm not Tim, but I say you must first make sure you have proper leg position, pulling his head and shoulder down. Second, as he begins to stand you just let go with one arm and hook his leg.
