Tim & Crew-
Thought you guys may enjoy this. Got it from Worldwide Grappling.
Enjoy,
Jake

Here is some video (not mine) or Rakhine Wrestling. It is the grappling style used in the Rakhine State. It is known as Kyun. This is the first time I have actually seen it on video and was a recent tournament

In Burma many of the ethnic groups have their own indigenous styles. Some fist man to hit the ground loses, some have ground grappling, some have grappling and strikes. The Rakhine play first to hit the ground. Legend says it has to do with them being a coastal ( pirate and Naval) people and that it was thowing people into the sea.

The grappling the Kachin (what we do) practice is Gamu Hkyen and the standup grappling is similar but goes into submission on the ground. It also allows open palm strikes and kicks with the sole of the foot.

I'd like to see film of a Kachin Gamu Hkyen tournament. I've read about it but never seen it.
