Glad someone had the balls to not only film during a class at the Kodokan, but to post it on the web.

Can't wait to get back next summer.
Nice clips.
Why does it take balls to video a class at the Kodokan?
The Kodokan is aware that there are people out there selling bootleg footage for profit, like the "kosen" tapes. Other times, some of the instructors may not be peforming some techniques to the best of their ability, and then that film makes it on the internet.
I've got a DVD of the first two judo kata that were invented, but not recognized by the Kodokan, and I had to sign a waiver stating that I would not distrubute the content of the DVD, unnless I wanted to get sued by the All Japan Judo Federation and the Kodokan. I guess they've become aware of intellectual property rights.
They've become wary of what foreigners do with all forms of media once they leave Japan. There's a European guy that shows up once every few years, takes some pictures with some high ranking judoka, and then uses those photos to claim that he is a student of those famous judoka, and his new rank should be recognized. I think he got to 4th dan before the European Judo Union made some phone calls.
Way too much drama.
LOL. The secrets MUST be preserved.
Thats Cool To Know!!!! about KODOKAN have much respect for Them
