Does anyone have some solid suggestions for electrolyte replacement drinks / pills / liquids? I am not a fan of sports drinks for a number of reasons: sugar, icky coating on teeth, needless carbs, etc.
http://www.prolytes.com/ Anyone ever use this? Thoughts / opinions?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jake
i used to be anti sport drinks (gatorade, powerade) except for immendiately after lifting or rolling w/ protein.
when i was first using creatine i switched from water ( all the time) to gatorade because of increased hydration needs.
i notice even when im not takng creatine drinking gatorade throughout the day helps getting through doubles easier.
also i dont buy the premixed stuff, i use the powder and mix it myself so its kind of watered down. the premix is too sweet for me, given my diet doesn't really have a lot of processed sugar.
Hmm,
Sounds like i'll be shooting lighting bolts out of my hands and running at lightning speed in no time.
Are there studies that prove this stuff is better then good ol' food and water?
Jean
Yeah, not a fan of either. I am just wondering what other options are out there, and peoples experiences with them.
Thanks
Jake
Well, the extremely unpalatable standby to replace electrolytes, especially after cutting weight for a fight, is Pedialyte.
Tim
Yeah I was thinking of that, but I just need more in general for intense workouts and what not. Not sure it is worth the terrible taste!!
Robert,
You may want to come into the 1900's and read up a little on it bro;)
Jake
Pedialyte's not too bad if you mix in some sugar and vodka.

Guinness! Or one thing a friend used to say was pretty good was half milk and half water.
This might be interesting?
