In that case, i think every art would classify as grappling then, except for boxing/kickboxing...?

I just think it's a subjective issue.
If you use "dirty boxing" like I like to use, then you can classify boxing as an aspect of grappling. If you like to focus on "attached" striking in Muay Thai kickboxing and all the variations of "plum"(which means wrestling), then you can look at it as an aspect of grappling. Heck, Tai chi is a grappling art to me.
Yet, someone can easily see it different depending on their focus within the art.

And, just to add, correctly practiced and applied as designed, Taijiquan is a grappling based art for everyone.
