I'm not big on pulling guard, but when facing a former Judo Olympian...pull guard!!!

So what I'm seeing is, not only does Judo work without a gi, fights sometimes go to the ground!

I don't know about pulling guard w/Ronda. She prefers the ground. I believe her favorite technique is juji gatame, and she doesn't pull guard to get it. She'll go for it if her throws don't score the full ippon.

Glad to see her throws are transferring nicely to no gi. They'll come in handy when she's ready for MMA.

I think her first fight is in August.

And yes, she is a newaza specialist! In other words, she loves matwork!
