anyone know the purpose of this guard? Do people actually use it to setup any submissions or is it strictly when you fall and the other guy is still standing? I mean i cant see any submissions from it and it seems easy to pass and wide open. mostly its for trying to throw them over the shoulder right? also is it useful only when crouched or also when back is flat on ground?

Man, when are you just going to go to a gym, "learn some real skills" and get all your questions answered.
Great idea. Sale your computer and join an MMA or BJJ gym.

It's not as good as the Scorpion guard for real combat. That takes years of training to master however.

For real combat, as in actual combat fighting in a street combat situation, Cicada Guard is where you need to be.

Tim can help with this, don't you have to be like a 5th degree black belt before they even teach Cicada Guard??

I think Tim only teaches the "Slow Loris guard".

I'm a fan of the "Tigon Guard" myself.
