I'm not sure why this thread was revived... but since it was- I wonder if any Taekwondo folks can help me understand why the Taekwondo fighter in this clip keeps 'stoping' after every exchange.

TKD guy think his so bad ass but his ass getting kick
I think we all tend to be biased by the perticular martial art we are studing. I am currently doing Ju Jitsu. This to me seems to be a more complete self defence art. A lot of styles focus on kicks and punches rather than controlling a situation. Also TKD tends to take a lot of time sparring around to get the job done. If a TKD person is thrown, do they know how to break fall, do they know how to defend against knife, gun a syrynge attacks. What about weapony, locks, breaks, elbows, knees, strangles, chokes, ground fighting, pressurepoints, throws, etc at the level required to control the situation. To gain a black belt usually takes 12 to 18 years depending on the club rather than 6 to 8 yaers with TKD or Karate. It is worth mixing this into other styles.
50% of all tkd kicks are ineffective or powerless
look at the fight with the thai guy and you'll see
one good kind of kick is worth a million useless
kick from a TKD guy.
this is for the loser talking about bruce lee
,he did not kick people ass on tape (for your entertainement)but anyone who trained with testified of his skills, including TKD guys!
how dare you making fun of a guy that trained
8 hours a day just for the sake of training MA.
you should respect that!!!!!
i'm sure you're one of those losers that train
a couple hours a week in your living room with your grand ma and you think you're so bad.
maybe you should shut up and learn from the first
guy who cut all the crap out of MA (and TKD)
and trained harder that even the best MMA fighters of our time!!!!!!
what is TKD's response to 'syringe attacks' ?
MARC D WHAT ????? you talking about
Tae Kwon Do!
watch the clip from bob#2.
bruce was one of the first to mix martial art
and cross train with weight, running, plyos and the first
to call out all the martial arts about there stupid, useless form and unrealistic postures.
he did GPP,SSP and hit anything (bags, wooden dummies, sand bags, pads)in every way possible
(kick,punch,elbows,knees etc...)
he was a pioneer!!!
p.s. if you have ask you wouldn't understand anyway!!!
SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL THE GRACIE, AND MACHADO CLANS THAT TAE KWON DO IS THE GREATEST MARTIAL ART DISIPLINE. AFTER REACHING THE RANK OF 5TH DEGREE BLACK BELT IN AMERICAN KARATE UNDER MASTER J. PAT BURLESON, WHICH IS ROOTED IN TAE KWON DO. I BEGAN TO STUDY THE GRAPPLING ARTS, AFTER 32 YEARS OF MARTIAL TRAINING I CAN ASSURE, IN A ONE ON ONE FIGHT "WE" WILL GO TO THE GROUND 100% OF THE TIME. IF YOU HAVE YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOU, IT'S NOT LIKELY I WOULD LET THAT HAPPEN IF IT WAS POSSIBLE TO STOP IT.
