Anyone ever been singled out by a teacher? NOT PRETTY!! If you are in a large class and your instructor corrects your mistakes(even though you feel gratified by the correction) you feel like your being singled out because people around you are making the same mistakes and the insructor is not correcting them! Well maybe its just me, despite the things i just said my teacher J.J teaches Kenpo very well.

Firefrost,

You might try looking at it in a different light. Consider just maybe you were singled out because the instructor didn't think the correction would be wasted on you. Just maybe he really cares about you as a student and how you progress. Maybe he sees more potential in you than those he did not correct. Good instructors correct their students. Good students welcome their instructors correction. By the way yes I have been singled out in class before, it was always needed and appreciated.

Firefrost,

I just checked, there are NO kenpo teachers named J.J.!!! Next time this imposter tries to help you- kick him between the legs as hard as you can and tell him you'd rather not be corrected in the future.

The name J.J is used out of discretion for my instrutor who runs Northwest Kenpo Karate.

Coldheat

Thank you for the wisdom as you are right. I do appreciate the corrections my instructor makes.

I don't think so.

There is a Kenpo teacher named Jason Johnston who runs Northwest Kenpo Karate with his wife Colleen Johnston in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. I should know because him and his wife are my instructors, and despite what I said above I very much appreciate their corrections and hold both of them in very high esteem! Not only do they just teach kenpo in their shcool they also teach grappling, sparring, and teach cardio classes. So yes there IS!!

Idaho? Did you know that the tooth brush was invented in Idaho?
(Had it been invented anywhere else it would be called a "teeth brush";)

Are the women in Idaho refered to as 'IdaHOs'?

I would too! that's another good reason to give
"J.J." a solid foot to the nads next time he tries to correct your form.

You seem like a good kid, but you need to assert yourself. And nothing says 'no thanks' better than a kick in the groinal region.(He may wince and cuss but deep inside he'll think, "wow, the kid knows his stuff".)

Do always think that someone knows (his) stuff. And by the way i would never dream of kicking my Kenpo teacher in the groin.

what? I don't understand your first sentence.

And your second sentence sums up your whole problem.

What i meant was that some considerate people would not refer to a person knowing "his stuff" instead they would say "they really know THEIR stuff". Obviously you are not one of those people. And what exactly do you think is my problem?

Fifefrost,

you asked,
"And what exactly do you think is my problem"

The need to ask questions like that. You need
a backbone, kid.

By the way,

the sentence "Do always think that someone knows (his) stuff." does not compute.

Do (who) always? [could be I, you, they] I'm not a mind reader anymore.

What I meant was that you seem like a sexualy biased person. Always refering to people as he, him, her, or she. As for needing a backbone, my family says I'm too nice but among my friends I'm known for saying no quite frequently. And besides what would I gain from kicking my teacher in the groin? (Other than some very mad people, and a nice front snap kick.)

What does my enjoyment of sex have to do with how I use pronouns?!!? I mean, I do prefer having sex to washing my big rig, if that makes me sexually biased big deal.

I suppose it would be rude to say that I feel bad that your friends know you have Tourette's Syndrome, so I wont. But I do understand how difficult it must be for you to order delivery food when you keep saying 'No'.

I feel sorry for your friends(asuming you have any)for not knowing you belong in a mental instatution watching cartoons. But then I would feel even more sorry for them if they new and had to put up with you just because they were to nice to tell you to beat it.

Try having a teacher that downgrades all his students, and other systems, tells you that he's not here to make you a champion, you figure it out for your self. Purposely teaches people the wrong way to do things so they won't get strong, because he is worried that someone may come after him. Only teaches what he thinks you need not a real system, just bits and peices of everything.
Try dealing with that, and having to pay for this. And i know allot of people that still train under him and belive all his bull,He brainwashes all the students to beleive that he is a great fighter, yet doesn't allow sparring either. I think if he did than they would find out how good they realy aren't. The teacher is out of akron Ohio.
