Help ..

i didn't think it was possible but this guy and his style both sucks and blows. He studied by mail.

Try challenging some other internal school to a fight and see how long it takes for the surgeons to remove the taiji ruler from your sorry behind.

What the F&$k.

hey SysOp

Understood. In future I'll be using more civilized language.

WTF

SysOp,
I doubt you would last 2 seconds with the guy I studie under.

As for the video thing, there is no reason I can't pick up the outside moves as well as the flow and spirit of a set from that. I HAVE real talent coaching me on my mechanics, so I DO have the inside of the set as well. It may be a bit unconventional, but it still works.

SysOp recently broke a larger man's jaw and knee bone with a single backhand... the man was still out cold when the ambulance took him the the hospitol. (The man had attacked SysOp in the street.)

I want it known I'm not proud for my action. I tried calling the police on my cell phone. They didn't respond fast enough to protect me.

Sysop would probably get bored with the video that you're studying from.

Let me get this straight, you are coaching yourself from the video course that you study from? LOL LOL LOL

Jaw and knee bone?

Sysop do you have very large hands?

or did one get broken on falling?

Meynard,
Although I do have a solid background in Shaolin Kung Fu under Master John Tsai (His seniors really), I did stumble on a really rare Kung Fu style a few years ago and really fell in love with it.

Unfortunetly, there is no way to learn the system without moving cross country or to Taiwan or Southern China or something.

The Master offered to send me video of the basics and fundementals. I later flew out for a weekend intensive. He was impressed with how much I accurately picked up from just the tape and decided to continue the relationship.

Now, He sends me video, I study and learn it, and then send him video of me performing the sets back to him. he cretiques it and tells me what i'm off on. When I'm good enough at what he's sent me, I go back for more intensive training.

In the mean time, I have been researching the style and I have made several contacts with other lines of the style and managed to procure video of some of the sets for comparisen. That is basically what got my web site started. I'm hoping to draw the interest of more Tai Tzu players for reasearch purposes.

I actually have a tape almost ready to ship now. If he likes it, I'm going to be on a plane before Chrismas.

In the mean time, I have a freind who is a LHBF guy (very talented by the way) who is correcting my mechanics, especially with the internal Tai Tzu since the two arts are so close in principal. The external Tai Tzu is easy for me because it is similar to my Shaolin Long Fist experiance, only it is smoother in action.

I actually teach from my Shaolin experiance because THAT is what I know.

hey

"The Master offered to send me video of the basics and fundementals. I later flew out for a weekend intensive. He was impressed with how much I accurately picked up from just the tape and decided to continue the relationship..."

well chosen.. I can't believe that someone willing to teach by tape would be anyting other than a dollar-yielding impressed with his new mark

"I actually have a tape almost ready to ship now. If he likes it, I'm going to be on a plane before Chrismas. ...:

well done.. now if only every one else did that we could have a true transmission of marital arts.. I hope that, for your bank managers sake, you are heeding this Mr Cartmell

I won't continue in my praise.. just to say

"Unfortunetly, there is no way to learn the system without moving cross country or to Taiwan or Southern China or something.
"

something would be better than this pile of "see the topic title"

WTF

That would be true, except the monatary expense is minimal, and I'm the only one he does this with.

hey

the only one.. why am i not surprised.. not many people have the intelligence to accept this as a valid teaching method..

a lot of the people here and at emptyflower have a deep understanding of these arts.. why don't you listen to what they are trying to tell you

Hey didn't Master Tsai have a late night infomertial? Eagle claw kung fu! LOL

Master Tsai is awesome! :-))

HAH!!! I've got it figured out!

Gian (royaldragon) is actually Danny Bonaducci starting a new marketing campaign for Master Tsai. LOL I guess Master Tsai has a new set of videos coming out. LOL

I want to know when the new infomertial is coming out.

You know guys, you have watched too many Kung Fu movies. Let the guy do whatever he wants to do, it’s his life. Nobody forces you to become his students. Grow up. There is a life after puberty. Believe me.

By WTF on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 07:58 pm: Edit Post

Hey

we may have watched too many kung fu movies but at least we haven't been using them to learn martial arts ... according to Royal Dragon i could watch Drunken Master, copy the drunken form and then send videos of myself to someone for correction.. use a local alcoholic to show me the internal mechanics (as drunken form and a drunk look pretty similiar)..

erhmm ..please .. i can confirm there is a life after puberty .. for the sake of his potential students lives, pre and post puberty, i'd suggest it was sensible to point these things out..

WTF

LOL!!! You guys act like I'v never had a real teacher!!

I have to agree, video learning is very difficult. But it is exposing me to a style that I would never have been able to study otherwise. I still train with real people and have real teachers though. So I' don't see why your all out to lynch me.

I haven't attacked anyone here, or gotten out of line at all. There seems to be an unusual amount of negativity towards me here. What is is about me that threatens you so?

First you claim to have the original tai ji.

Then you admit it's just a mixture of other tai ji styles from some family in Taiwan.

Then you say you learn via video correspondence from some guy in the states, not the direct guy from Taiwan.

Then you add that it's tai ji but with HEAVY liu he ba fa influence. You teach tai ji that you learned from a video and have some other non tai ji guy correct your video tai ji.

The coup de grace is that you're actually a shaolin guy who learned from a Master Tsai, (actually his seniors) whatever that means. I'm thinking that you just got video lessons from that late night infomertial with Master Tsai and Danny Bonaducci.

What's next? You train mostly by playing video games? sheesshh!
