Well, do you?

Do you know how fortunate you are to have Tim here to provide this forum and his great insight.

Do you know how fortunate you are to have someone who has a very deep understanding in the philosophy and practice of Chinese Martial Arts and the open-mindedness and daring to practice other arts?

While many in the CMA rely on stories past down from their "masters" to give them an understanding of the effectiveness of their art form, Tim is here...right now...in 2005...competing...still learning...still growing and giving you what sometimes may come off as the "ugly truth"!

For those of you who study in schools or styles that appreciate the history and concepts of the TCMA, but yet actually "spars" against resistant opponents, well this is nothing new to you.

But those of you who practice in the same arts or similar arts, but are misguided by ancient stories of legendary masters(some true and some not)and are smothered by excuses of why they don't spar or how their art is too dangerous to use in a live training setting, well you are the ones who benefit most from the "truth" Tim and Shen Wu has to offer.

I can't believe some of the questions asked here at times, yet Tim doesn't dismiss them, nor is he rude. He uses great humility and tact to get his points across, usually short and to the point and non-confrontational. That's a true martial artist.

He seems to realize that you can't talk the truth into people with closed minds and narrow and limited experiences. Although, sometimes you can beat it into them!

Thanks Tim! You are well appreciated and I truly do think most know how fortunate they are to have you here.

Robert

I'd like to add that because his answers are so concise, some people assume he is implying things that he simply didn't say. I found searching the archives can help.

Thanks Robert,
A great compliment coming from someone with your experience.

Kenneth,
True, if you define "concise" as "doesn't like to type."

Tim is definitely one of the best, and it is always fabulous when someone of his caliber is willing to discuss martial arts openly with the public.

I must admit that I have badgered several Aikido and Ninjutsu practitioners into buying Tim's Effortless Combat Throws book. Gotta spread the word when you can.

Tim is probably one of the few great living martial artists in the world, that's no joke. He's one of the few teachers I've met with an open mind and real personality. Lots of teacher preach about enlightenment and great compassion and such, these are the same teachers who charge you 600 bucks for a 4 hour seminar! I can't tell you how many times Tim has offered to buy me dinner, or spent extra time hanging out late at night to help me with something! He keeps his class's real and his prices fair! Not to mention he'd likely beat anyone of us up with little effort!! how many teachers put them selves out there like Tim, he still competes!!
He's the real deal, everyone should come from far and wide to train with him!

What Chris said is the TRUTH!

Tim, I don't know if it is by design, but the simplicity of your responses quite often drives your point home harder than some drawn-out post.

Oh, and yes, I feel very fortunate to be training with Tim at Shen Wu.

Chris, I referred Heather to Tim. I waited until you left. I didn't want you to drool in class.

Just remember Chein, that I got Glen (the freakish strong red head), Matt (the freakish strong half-chinese), and Tim. So you better bring the X-men if want to stand a chance.

So Meynard's superpower is that he's crazy? What a gyp!

A) How come Tim dosen't get a title.
B) Would Matt be stronger if he was more chinese, or is the fact of Half Chineseness make his power more complete.
C) Glenn is red head'ed and freakishly strong.
D) Meynard let you win.
E) Gnomes can't run all day in chain mail!
