Somebody actually said this in one of the online forums.
"If you practice too much Xing Yi (or probably any other internal martial art) and don't meditate you will turn evil and attempt to crush everything that somehow offends you."
On another topic they go off talking about the dark side of the force, as in Star Wars and that too much Xing Yi without meditation will turn you into the dark side. Gimme a break!
hhhmmm...some people from my old aikijiujitsu school did say that leaving the school to train with Tim at the Shen Wu Academy is like going to the dark side of the force. 
ha ha ha ha... they just don't know the power of the dark side!!!

Then again, what's TOO much Xing-Yi?
Meditation develops incredible Will (when done seriously), just as IMA does. I have seen that the Will developed by internal martial artists is more mono-focused towards violence, whereas the Will developed by meditators tends to be focused on whatever one wants to do with it.
Will/ Power is a dangerous thing for it gives you choices, who hasn't been tempted to use one's IMA skills on some clown that's annoying your girlfriend... In the meditators case, the "Dark Side" can represent a total commitment to one's goals, to destroy all opposition in a callous and cutting way, without any consideration of love or friendship.
Once again, Power is a dangerous thing...
