Andy Jack, please don't spread your propaganda lies on this website. Master TIM said the spaceship wouldn't come get us and will take our NIKE sneakers away if we listened to you.

What am I lying about and what would be my motive for lying, Mr. Koojo?

you sound like a "flower child"

"I gather from this board that there truly is an art to martial arts"

with a little thought you could have made that brilliant deduction by understanding the term "Martial Art"

Fear seems like a good reason to go to war. not fear of wepons of mass distruction, or fear of what a despot is doing to his people. Rather fear of the people themselves. Frued said civilisation leads to the disempowerment of man. These people are not civilised like us they have a power we can never have . Not only the ability to pick up a gun and fight and kill or be killed. Also they can kill their own livestock and grow their own food, if the supermarkets all closed tomorrow half of the first world would starve to death. to practice fighting is to empower yourself and take back some part of yourself that civilisation wishes you not to have. having a gun and thus having killing potential may give you some empowerment but you are still relient on that object and thus without it you become useless. A man with a gun may walk tall when he has it on his person but if he is without it fear will play across his face and he will slouch and slink about. Thus a gun has a similar function to a talisman. A man trained in MA will walk tall and have a spirit about him at all times not just when he has a wepon at hand.

Hey monkey brains (Roberto Numero Dos), what I'm implying is that the majority of the people on this board know what they're talking about. Hence, unlike most of the so-called "martial arts" I have experienced, there's a little more to the "art" in martial arts than kicking, punching, and throwing an elbow. So I'm really not deducing anything; I'm clarifying for those who fail to understand.

"flower child"--no. Nice attempt at assessing my personality. What are the lies? What would be my motive for lying? I don't understand your post, Koojo. Please elaborate.

Andy, you take yourself too seriously, lighten up a little and enjoy yourself.

...and don't forget what those monkeys did to that guy in California recently.

I'd like to carry mace, a knife, and a taser with me at all times.

Unfortunately, I think I can only afford the knife and mace...and of which I have been telling myself to get these for over a year. I really need to just go out and get both...

Qui, the guy walking tall because of his MA will be laying dead after being shot by the slinking guy with the gun. Remember that MAs are about weapons also, and their first priority was increasing one's chances of survival.

Kenneth - my point is if you need a gun to feel safe to walk out on the street of your home town or city, and you live in constant fear of violent confrontation. How much is your life worth.

$41,336.23 according to the collection agencies.

Qui, my point is let's not demonize nor romanticize guns. They are not symbols but merely tools that are better to have when not needed than vice-versa as the saying goes. I often carry a gun but it does not make me feel "safe". Conversely, being without one doesn't make me feel particularly vulnerable either.
