I see all sorts of people talking about what style this or what style that, or if you add bla bla to bla bla, then you can be super deadly, and all such nonsense as this! Speaking from a martial arts stand point (not for those strictly into the history and culture) There are only 3 major things you can do in a fight (besides run) You can strike(cause percussive damage with your fists, feet, knees, ect. ect.) Grapple (use your body to tie up theirs, to brake, choke or simply hold and pin) or you can project (through them onto the ground, against something like a wall, or simply shove them away) this is pretty much what you are limited to, and you can do it in two places, on the ground, or standing. That's pretty much it! Any style you thoroughly study that specializes in one of these will give you most all of the basics and principals for that spacific. Then you can beef it up with competitive sparring, or you can add new skills to it, however the basics are the basics there really aren't any secrets that are secret! So why do people keep insisting on learning one specific silly thing?? I came to Tim not because I thought he had secret chinese magic(he dose however), I came to Tim because I thought he had a better understanding of the principals then most any other teacher I was going to run into, and because he knew how to fight( Which as strange as it may sound was important to me). From years of Aikido I never learned any secret Japanese magic, but I did get the idea of how grappling and throughing work, and have been able to quickly assimilate these idea into working principles that i can use in a fight. Systems have no magic, it’s the ideas that the systems were biased on!

huh? I don't care what you say I want the magic. Oh there are secrets allright. You've been fooled to think that there are no secrets so you'd stop looking. Sucker!!!
