I used to be able to go to my kung fu school for 5 hours a day every day it was open (6 days per week). Now I have been limited to about 2 hours every other day. I have been modifying little parts of my house so I can practice almost exactly the same way but will it be as effective as practicing under supervision?

That depends on the level of your teacher's supervision.

Can your teacher see through clothing? Skin? Metal? If not- you're probobly better off devloping your own supervision.

The exception to this, of course, is the necessary training done with partners. but to develop a foundation, most of your training is on your own. You need only occasionally check with the teacher to ensure that you are doing things correctly and not developing bad habits.
