invent a sash/belt system when all it does is degrade the art into a mcdojo making people think they are progressive when often they aren't? I think that's why Wrestling is one of the only styles left that doesn't suffer from mcdojos.

I'm not one "of tradition", but some people don't care to really learn how to fight. They care more about being a part of a structure, group or organization. They care more about "personal perfection" or getting good at something, belt or no belt, functionality or not. It is also a means of developing some aspect of self-discipline.
I know people who would do very well to have CMA as an aspect of their lives.
It's all very personal and individual.
