BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Global Chinese Kung Fu Star TV Competition kicked off here Thursday expecting to select a new icon of the Chinese kung fu after Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

The competition is cosponsored by China's youngest star TV channel Shenzhen star TV and the 1500-year-old Shaolin Temple, regarded as the cradle of the Chinese kung fu.

The six-month activity will be held in six domestic competitionzones including Shenzhen, Beijing, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu and Shanghai.

At the same time the organizing committee also established five international competition zones in the United States, Germany, Russia, Italy and Australia, said Wang Maoliang, president of Shenzhen Radio, Film and Television Group, stressing that this shows the selection is open to every one in the world who favors the kung fu.

Shi Yongxin, abbot of the Shaolin Temple, said one of the most important goals of the competition is to showcase Chinese kung fu culture and he said it is also a good attempt to develop this cultural legacy and promote it to the world.

The winner of the competition will have chances to play roles in a number of TV series concerning Shaolin Temple and is also possible to take part in a Hollywood movie with the same theme.

Kung fu is a precious piece of legacy in the 5000-year history of China.

In the past, kung fu was usually used to fight the enemies and safeguard the country.

Yet in the peaceful years today, the Chinese kung fu, instead of fading away with the time, has gained great fames in the international movie circle. Enditem

how come they just don't enter real MMA fights?
or if they win your china crap comp.,why don't you take the best chiny, and get him into pride or
something?
if you want to keep kung fu a legacy, they need to fight for real!and not get into the movie fake
world!fighting is what proves your martial skills not movies or BS kung fu competetions!then how do you expect the real thing?
or do you care about the real thing?
or honor?

LONDON, Sept. 28 - British mixed martial artist Lee Murray is in critical condition following an incident early Wednesday morning outside the Funky Buddha Nightclub in Mayfair, a wealthy area of London, according to The London Evening Standard.

Murray had been stabbed repeatedly in the chest, puncturing a lung and severing an artery. He remains in critical condition after having
undergone two operations, The Standard reported.

A veteran of Cage Rage and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Murray had been attending a birthday party for "Page 3" girl Lauren Pope
before violence broke out around 3:15 a.m that escalated into a mass brawl involving 25 people. As of Wednesday evening no arrests had been
made, though police said that they are hunting several suspects.

Officers found one victim outside the club and another lying on the pavement near Green Park tube station. Murray, himself, had collapsed
in a pool of blood 100 yards away.

I find that the more I find teachers who are still quite capable fighters, and the more I spar with them and their best students, the more I learn that no matter how much my skills are progressing there's always going to be someone better. The better a martial artist I become, the more afraid I am of ever getting into a real fight. Inevitably either he or I will be a better fighter. If it's he, i am in big trouble... If it's me, I'm probably still in big trouble. I can see myself being charged with some worse offense b/c I choked the guy into unconsciousness instead of repeatedly bludgeoing his face until his mom won't recognize him. Such is life.

People are stupid.

Here is a cool little Taiwanese aphorism:

"Politicians fear journalists. Journalists fear gangsters. Gangsters fear cops. Cops fear politicians."

Nobody wins Rock-Scissors-Paper every time.

So I guess that means that at some point in time one of your male ancestors was defeated.

To which I say: "how do you expect the real thing? or do you care about the real thing? or honor?"

Touche! En pointe!

You know, you could probably leverage your uncanny Rock-Paper-Scissors Kungfu to become the 21st century representative of Shaolin brand breakfast cereal, redeeming your lineage from its legacy of shame.

Stay crunchy in milk, bro.

Peas out. 5SkkKilla.
