Hi Tim,i was wondering what do you think of cold water dousing?Is it done in the far east like in certain parts of eastern europe?Thanks again for your time.

I've never seen it in China. I know some Aikidoka jump into a cold river once a year at New Year's time I believe.

I think it may be more of a Russian/Eastern European pracitce.

I've never practiced the method, I'm not sure why it would have any benefit (besides training to become more inured to the cold).

it would move the blood!

when your body temp drops, your blood moves into your core. When it goes up, all the blood moves out to the skin and superficial vessels.

That's why contrast showers/icing etc can speed recovery.
