not bad, not bad at all...
Cung Le is a great kickboxer and standing wrestler, but I'd like to see him in an mma fight with an opponent that is actually an mma fighter.
Calling a sanshou fight mma doesn't make it mma.
I know he practices kickboxing and was a wrestler. Does anyone know if Cung has ever practiced any Chinese martial arts?
The high kicks would cost him. Additionally, ask yourself how well some of these guys would do if they took the steroids away from them.
Many pro athletes use steroids.
Yet, some do not. In MMA, many people use steriod abuse by some to excuse the effectiveness of their skills and training methods.
Steriods.....Is that as important as keeping your elbows high for coverage-all the time. Not turning your back with a silly shin-to-above the knee radial nerve kick. How about sticking to your opponent like stink on poop. No air, no breathe, missed punches are elbows and missed kicks turning into knees. High kicks....Taiwan you nailed that one on the head!
I like Tim's post from a long time ago about size/strength vs. skill. I won't repeat what he said here. It should still be available.
Doesn't steroid use play into that?
i really doubt Cung is on steroids.
i hope he's hitting the BJJ hard.
He'd be a good fighter at 165. But i think that he's been fighting at 175 for a long time.
It'd just be nice for San Da/San Shou to get some props. The training and competition style has a lot to offer.
"The training and competition style has a lot to offer"
An often overlooked point.
I find the posts on this board have more to offer than watching pros make all the mistakes that we know shouldnt be made- in competition or on the street.
you give us a bad name
by "us" do you mean "Jasons"?
The word "we" was incorrect to use in that statement. Did not mean to infer you Jason M. Struck.
