What are your experiences? How did you fare against them with your oriental stand up fighting skills?

I've played with a few boxers. With their fast, hard and snappy fists they can really dominate the punching range, but at any other range they tend to suffer.

I found the easiest way to unbalance their tactic was to close to a sticking range and use their classic guard against them. If they disengaged the stick it was easy to surge forward with a hand-strike to hit or stick again or use a kick. Boxers don't like you to use low kicks on them either, as a general rule.

Grappling tactics can also be used with great effectiveness, but since boxers often have fast footwork and good balance you may have to work for a takedown. Personally I'm very lazy and don't like to work for anything, so I'll stick to sticking.

Peace, love and mungbeans
