Anybody able to shed some light on this series of drills? If it's a common exercise in different Hsing-I lineages, where it came from, that kind of thing.

Alex, this sounds more like the Heavenly Stems (Tien Gan?)set of exercises from Gao style baguazhang.

From what shows up on the net, that looks like the very thing. Phonetic spelling can only go so far!
