This is just a couple vids from a weekly sparring meet up that I have set up for my friends and training brothers. Some of them train. Some of them dont. Just practicing our ability to stand and bang.

I've always admired your openness, willingness and courage test your skills...but that session was hopefully just fun and games, for their was no functionality in any of those videos.

We were just going to the body just to work on standing and banging and dealing with some pressure. Unfortunately I don't get the chance to work with really skilled people on a regular basis with real time sparring. I think its pretty obvious from all the smiling and laughing that nothing too serious is going on. No one is trying to kill anyone in there. But as people have gotten more used to it since then they have been willing to go harder and harder and I assume it will keep getting better. I'll put up some new vids in a week or two and maybe we'll be able to see some improvement. :-)

"Harder" does not = better.

Even if you are just playing with buddies, reinforcing foolish habits such as keeping your hands down will only get you in trouble when you are put under real pressure. ALWAYS train the proper way to fight.

Kelly, when I was in the Army, one of my duty stations found me with no one to train with. So, I still wanted to work on my skills. I'd have my friends try to punch me in the head/face. The rules were that I could not move my feet or hit back. I could only move my head and parry.

This drill really improved my head movement and relaxation.
