I was wondering if xing-yi had any type of throws and how they were done. Read description but it did not really explain the takedowns. Also, does anyone know of a xing-yi school in New Orleans.

Xingyiquan has quite a number of takedowns. They are, for the most part not high amplitude wrestling-type throws. The takedowns in Xingyiquan are referred to as "Kao Die" (knock downs).

Karl,

Go to "http://www.shenwu.com/hsingi.htm" scroll to the bottem of the page and click on the examples of Xing Yi techniques.

Better yet... go to "www.shenwu.com"
and read all about Tai Ji, Ba Gua and other stuff.
They too have examples.

Shane
