Tim,
Both you and Mike Patterson seem to have studied the three classic internals (and more) very thoroughly, and you both seem to respect all three, but (from what I have read--correct me if I am wrong) you both seem to lean most heavily on Xingyi for Chinese-style full contact fighting--and with good success! If this is so, then why? I know that you cannot speak for Mr. Patterson, but I'd love to hear your perspective. Is Xingyi simply particularly good for that format of fighting?
When I fought in Taiwan, I was primarily practicing Xingyiquan. I incorporated elements of the other arts I learned as I practiced them later.
Tim,
Ah, I see. I wasn't aware of the chronology of your training and I'd just assumed you'd studied all three internals contemporaneously. Thanks for taking the time answer--and for this site!
