From everyone who is of Xu Hon Ji (Hsu Hung Chi) lineage, What was your training and forms?
I was wondering the same, how similar is the Hsing I practice at Shenwu and say Mike Patterson who also was student of Xu Hon Ji. Just curius if anyone can comment a bit on it I will appreciate it. Cheers
Don't forget Tim had other teachers such as Liang Ke Chuan, Mao Ming Chun etc. that influenced the Xing YI he does and teaches.

OMG was i wrong about this alex guy...
i quit his class. waste of time, no sparring, and big ego's.
one time i asked if i could learn the next step to a form, and he told me no.
his students suck major balls in tui shou (push hands) and would get mad everytime i would push them off balance. theyd say, "no youre doing it wrong" trying to get me to put myself in a bad position, lmao.
not worth my time.
the only i want to those classes was to learn the xingyi FORM, and if i wouldve stayed, at the rate he was teaching me, it wouldve taken me like ten years. lmfao.
Robert
Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
Don't waste your time, go to Tim.
Cheers
Jake
Robert, I agree with Jake. Tim will teach you without holding back, I wish I was living somewhere in the States to go more often.
I am student of Harold Bellamy who was student of Xu Hon Ji and my training was as follows:
1 to 1.5 hour of calisthenics and partner work
5- 10 minute break
1 hour of sparring, techinque and or form work
Sometimes we did standing postures and 5 element work, push hands, etc.. We did it all !!

I just noticed I never answered the original question.
When I trained with Xu Hongji and in the Shen Long Tangshoudao school in Taipei group classes went like this:
An hour or so of warm ups and conditioning exercises (including a lot of core work on the mat, the set of "Tian Gan," and lots of variations of push ups).
Rolling and falling (rolls up and down the mat, breakfalls, jumping over objects into rolls and breakfalls and various Judo mat crossings).
Jump Kicks (doing various jumping kicks up and down the mat).
Stance Holding (most often Santishi).
Forms practice.
Specific technique practice.
Sparring drills and free sparring (sometimes we practiced only standing wrestling, or just striking, sometimes free sparring in gear, and sometimes the more advanced students practiced Rou Shou).
Classes lasted close to three hours.
thanks tim.
