Looks good.
Thanks bud. What are your guys' opinions on the stomping work done often in hsing yi. I am scared it could hurt my knees.
The harder you stomp, the more energy you will displace into the ground and subsequently the less force you will have in your strike.
That makes sense. Is there any reason for this practice that you know of? Is it just for show?
The styles I practiced didn't use the foot stomping method.
I think the original idea was to teach beginners to time the movement of their hands and feet by making a large movement. Eventually, the steps should be silent and all the force transfered through the point of contact with the opponent, without wasting any energy stomping into the ground (unless you are actually stomping on someone lying on the ground!)
