Tim's Discussion Board: Advertisements and Notices: Classical Fighting Arts magazine
By Brian Kennedy on Tuesday, June 03, 2003 - 06:11 am: Edit Post

I was asked to pass the word around about a new
magazine called Classical Fighting Arts magazine. I and my wife had written for them in their old newspaper format and will continue to in the new magazine format. Here is the announcement.

The first issue of Classical Fighting Arts magazine has been in the mail to subscribers for about 1 week now and has already started to arrive in California, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada and Washington state. Bulk shipments left last week for the Borders and Barnes &
Noble distribution points, so it show start to appear on magazine racks in about ten days.

If staff in big book stores say they can't get it, they can. Every branch of Borders Books will have copies, every branch, and most Barnes & Noble, Tower and Hastings branches also. Tell them their supplier of CFA is International Periodical Distribution (IPD) and it should all become clear to them.

Please tell your friends and colleagues about CFA. For it to survive and prosper it needs the support of serious martial arts enthusiasts like yourself.

Regards,
The Classical Fighting Arts magazine team.

I would add that the first edition contains a piece on Sun Lu Tang (featuring a plug for Tims translation of Sun's biography) and featured on the cover is a student of Wan lai-shengs.

The magazine has in the past been primarily about Japanese and Okinawan martial arts but the new incarnation will have more coverage of Chinese martial arts.

Take care,
Brian
